I’ve spent the last 25 years DJing at events across the US and around the world. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some incredibly talented and hard working event producers who inspire me to this day - most of them, anyway. By quietly observing before, after & during my DJ sets, I’ve learned the ins & outs of producing an event. I pay attention to the major details, along with the minor details you probably notice, too. There are the details we wish someone would notice, to the details you’ll never notice - but they all matter just the same. When someone produces an event well, it not only thrills and excites me, but it also sparks my creative side with new ideas of what I would do in that position. For instance, what would I name it? A great event name for me is a simple invitation with a positive message, a word or phrase that translates similarly across multiple languages, and offers subtext beyond the intended meaning. So, what is COME? I name my first event in Atlanta, GA COME because that is the invitation I extend to any open or like-minded individual who wants to be entertained and have a good time. If you allow me to provide the music & entertainment, you can define what COME is to you. If that means lost in a rhythm of beats & bass pulsing through your bloodstream, or finding yourself making new friends and chosen family in a safe & positive atmosphere. Leaving the world behind to let the music & visuals take you away in the main room, or coming inside to explore your deep & dark desires in the back room (clothes check available, but not required). I’ve noticed through the years that my themed podcasts get the most plays. From the Pride editions, or the Winter Party classic set, mixes that zoom in on a specific vibe or emotion get more plays than others. I’ve been looking for a way to do more of them that would not only excite me, but be different. I've seen a lot, as 2021 is the 25th Anniversary of my DJ career (First legit set: Happy hour, Oz, New Orleans, August 1996). I can’t think of a better time to announce my first podcast series, FEEL.
Depending on what you read, there are anywhere between 5 (according to Darwin) to about 30 feelings we call “emotions” in the modern day. After many nights sleeping on this idea, and even more days exploring my virtual crates, I settled on these emotions to make up FEEL's six episodes for 2021: Happy, Helpless, Euphoria, Lust, Nostalgia and of course Pride.
